A modern Mediterranean residence built around a microclimatic inner courtyard, combining traditional rammed earth construction with smart solar shading.

Solis Courtyard House revisits Mediterranean vernacular architecture through a contemporary lens. Designed as a sanctuary from the urban heat, the residence wraps around a central courtyard featuring a reflective water mirror and native flora. The exterior walls are constructed from locally sourced rammed earth, providing exceptional thermal mass that regulates interior temperatures year-round. Dynamic, motorized wooden louvers filter the sharp Iberian sunlight, creating an ever-shifting play of light and shadow across raw plaster surfaces and microcement flooring.
